The Eveil Network project started in 2004 as a consequence of the following observations:
The tourism activity in the PACA (Provence) area has dramatic impacts on the local economy, but also in terms of environmental and socio-cultural effects
Local initiatives of the tourism sector promoting responsible tourism need more communication and visibility
Professionals of the tourism sector are not aware of the interests and benefits they can get in their activity and for the local territory by implementing a responsible approach
Professionals of the tourism sector who wish to initiate a responsible procedure in their activity lack information as well as technical and pedagogical background
The objectives of the Eveil Network
1.
to promote leisure and tourism structures which implement responsible practices in their activities.
2.
to sensitize and inform tourism professionals the stakes of this approach.
3.
to capitalize experiences and share skills among the Network members .
4.
to coordinate technical and pedagogical support for the affiliated members in order to implement responsible practices in their activities.
The target: To whom does the Network address?
This Network applies to the tourism and leisure professionals of the PACA area who have initiated a responsible procedure or who wish to implement responsible practices in their activities.
Any organization or company offering the following services can be considered as leisure and tourism professionals:
catering and/or restaurant
accommodation
leisure activities
tours and travels
This Network is also meant for French or foreign tourists who want to be informed and discover the various local responsible activities
The Network is made of affiliated members (tourism and leisure professionals) as well as partners (creating a network of technical and pedagogical skills) and is coordinated by the non-profit organisation Citizens of the Earth.
